Air Force Agniveervayu 02/2027 : Mandatory Medical Standards
- Height: Minimum Acceptable Height is 152 Cms for Both Males and Females. Height Relaxation Applies to Females from the North East/hilly Regions of Uttarakhand (147 Cms) and Lakshadweep (150 cms).
- Chest Wall: Well-Proportioned with a Minimum Range of Expansion of 05 Cms for Both Male and Female Candidates. Male Candidates Additionally Require a Minimum Unexpanded Circumference of 77 cms.
- Visual Standards: Visual Acuity Must be 6/12 in Each Eye, Correctable to 6/6 in Each Eye. Maximum Refractive Error Limits are Hypermetropia: +2.00 D and Myopia: -1.00 D. Candidates with a History of LASIK Surgery are Not Eligible.
- Zero Tolerance Policies: Candidates wearing Fixed or Removable Orthodontic Braces will be Declared unfit. Complete Rejection Applies to Candidates with a History of Gender Reassignment Surgery or Substance abuse. Female Candidates found Pregnant at any stage will be Instantly Disqualified.
Indian Air Force Agniveervayu : Selection Process
- Phase-I: Online Test: Objective MCQ Administered Bilingually (English & Hindi). Science Subject Tests Last 60 Minutes; Non-Science Tests Last 45 Minutes; and the Combined test lasts 85 Minutes. Marking Pattern: +1 Mark for Correct Answers, 0 for Unattempted, and a Deduction of 0.25 Marks for Wrong Answers.
- Phase-II: Physical Fitness & Adaptability: Shortlisted Candidates face a Document Review at a Designated Airmen Selection Centre Followed by two Physical Fitness Tests (PFT):- PFT-1: A 1.6 Km run to be Finished within 7 Minutes for Males and 8 Minutes for Females, PFT-2: Calisthenics Check within 1 Minute (Males: 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups, 20 Squats; Females: 10 Sit-ups in 1.5 mins, 15 Squats in 1 min)
- Phase-III: Medical Examination: Baseline Blood Hemogram, Biochemistry, Urine Analysis, Chest X-Rays and ECG Screenings Performed by an Air Force Medical Team.

No. Agniveervayu enrolled under this scheme are a distinct rank and will not be eligible for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) status after their discharge upon completing the four-year engagement period.
Q3: Is there a provision to transition into the regular cadre of the Indian Air Force?
Sure. After 4 years candidates are eligible to apply for regular cadre enrolment. These applications are processed centrally and up to 25 percent of each specific batch will be enlisted as regular Airmen based on objective criteria and performance.
