According to the IMD, heavy rain and snowfall are likely in isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh and the higher reaches of northeastern Himachal Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Snowfall in the hilly areas may disrupt road connectivity and daily life.

Dense Fog Likely Across Northern and Eastern India

The IMD has warned that dense to very dense fog may prevail during night and early morning hours in several states:

  • Eastern Uttar Pradesh: Fog likely till December 23
  • Punjab, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, and Northern Madhya Pradesh: Fog expected till December 22
  • Bihar, Jharkhand, and Interior Odisha: Fog conditions may continue till December 24

Cold wave conditions are also likely in Uttarakhand and Jharkhand on December 22, and in Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh on December 22 and 23.
