SBI PO Recruitment 2026 : Selection Process
- Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (100 Marks): An online objective test consisting of English Language (40 Q), Quantitative Aptitude (30 Q) and Reasoning Ability (30 Q). There is no sectional cutoff, and candidates matching approximately 10 times the vacancies will be shortlisted for the next phase.
- Phase-II: Main Examination (230 Marks): Consists of an Online Objective Test (200 marks / 3 hours) testing core competencies, immediately followed by an Online Descriptive Test (30 marks / 30 minutes) where candidates must type their answers on the computer. A penalty of 1/4th mark applies for wrong answers in objective sections across both Phase-I and Phase-II.
- Phase-III: Psychometric Test & Interview Panel (50 Marks): Shortlisted candidates (approx. 3 times the category vacancies) will undergo personality profiling via a Psychometric test, followed by Group Exercises (20 marks) and a Personal Interview (30 marks).

Yes. The bank has restricted the maximum permissible number of chances based on category. General and EWS candidates are permitted 6 attempts, while UR(PwBD), EWS(PwBD), OBC, and OBC(PwBD) candidates are allowed 9 attempts. There are no attempt restrictions for SC/ST categories. Note that appearing in the Preliminary Exam does not count as a chance; a chance is counted only if you appear in the Main Examination.
