Due to the influence of a western disturbance, light to moderate rainfall is continuing across several parts of northern and north-western India. Daytime temperatures are declining. Stormy rain warnings have been issued for 11 states including Delhi, UP, and Bihar. Winds could blow at 85 km/h. A yellow alert has been issued for the capital Delhi, forecasting rain and thunderstorms.

- Delhi-NCR (8–11 April): IMD has issued a yellow alert for Delhi on 8 April. Strong winds, cloudy skies, rain, and thundershowers are expected at some places. One or two spells of rain or storms are possible. On 9 April, skies will remain partly cloudy. From 10–11 April, weather is expected to clear and temperatures will gradually rise, with the maximum likely reaching 33–34°C.
- Rajasthan (8–10 April): Moderate to heavy rain is highly likely in parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur, and Kota divisions. Rainfall of 30–50 mm may occur in some parts of Jaipur division and the Shekhawati region, with hail also possible in isolated areas. From 9 April, most areas are expected to remain mainly dry for the next 4–5 days, with temperatures rising by 3–4°C from 10 April.
- Madhya Pradesh (8–11 April): Warnings of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds in several districts including Vidisha, Rajgarh, Ratlam, Agar, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Niwari. Hail and strong winds are also expected in Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, and Morena. A new western disturbance is expected to become active over the western Himalayan region from 11 April, bringing further weather changes.
- Uttar Pradesh (8–9 April): Moderate to heavy rain warning issued for Agra, Mathura, Saharanpur, Hapur, Muzaffarnagar, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Bareilly, Sambhal, Bulandshahr, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, Moradabad, Sitapur, Barabanki, Lucknow, Kannauj, Fatehpur, Kanpur, Pratapgarh, Banda, and Lucknow.
- Bihar (8 April): Heavy rain warning issued for West Champaran, East Champaran, Gaya, Jehanabad, Patna, Nalanda, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnea, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Araria, and Katihar. Winds may blow at 60 km/h.
- Uttarakhand (8–9 April): Light to moderate rain warning for Nainital, Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Pauri Garhwal, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Tehri Garhwal. Winds at 60 km/h.
- Himachal Pradesh (8–10 April): Moderate to heavy rain alert for Mandi, Kullu, Shimla, Kangra, Lahaul & Spiti, Kinnaur, and Solan. Winds at 60 km/h.
- Haryana & Punjab (8–10 April): Light rain expected in Chandigarh, the joint capital. Rain warnings also for Ambala, Panchkula, Narnaul, and Rohtak in Haryana, and Amritsar, Rupnagar, Mohali, Patiala, Pathankot, and Ludhiana in Punjab. Chandigarh’s maximum temperature is likely to be 27.6°C — about 5°C below normal.
- Maharashtra & Gujarat (8–9 April): Scattered light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds (30–40 km/h) likely in Gujarat on 8 and 9 April. Several areas of Maharashtra are also expected to see deteriorating weather.
- Tamil Nadu & Puducherry (8–12 April): Moderate rain expected in Chennai due to a low-pressure system extending from Telangana through Tamil Nadu to the Gulf of Mannar. Intermittent rain likely in parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry over the next few days. Moderate rain expected in western ghats districts on 11–12 April. Light rain possible in delta districts. Despite the rain, temperatures in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry may rise by up to 3°C in coming days.
